The Job

The role of Retail Firearms Sales contributes to the success of Midwest Gun Exchange by maintaining a working knowledge of firearms, cutlery and accessories and using this knowledge to sell products to our customers. The position helps to maintain the store visual standards and assist in keeping the floor stocked with merchandise. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide customer service.
  • Continually expand knowledge of products and services offered at Midwest Gun Exchange.
  • Help to maintain visual standards and cleanliness within department.
  • Stock product from truck/warehouse to sales floor.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other staff and management team.

The Requirements

  • Previous retail sales and customer services experience preferred.
  • Effective math and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Meet availability requirements including nights and weekends.
  • Firearms enthusiast preferred, but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Neat, clean professional appearance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Inside Wholesale Salesperson

The Job

The role of Inside Wholesale Salesperson contributes to the success of Midwest Gun Exchange by maintaining a working knowledge of firearms, cutlery and accessories and using this knowledge to sell products to our customers. The Inside Wholesale Salesperson will be responsible for achieving inside sales revenue goals by obtaining and up-selling orders, creating customer satisfaction, and adding value to the customer’s buying experience.

  • Obtain orders by answering phone calls, verifying and entering items, shepherding orders to fulfillment, explaining stock-outs and expected delivery dates.
  • Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer’s buying history.
  • Build own customer list and open customer accounts by obtaining customer agreement and collecting customer information via callouts, cold calls and internet.
  • Keep up-to-date with new products.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes.
  • Prepare, generate and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reason for loss of order.
  • Review open customer order reports and takes action on open items, specifically items that may be at risk in meeting the customer’s promised delivery date.
  • Performs other duties as required.

The Job

The role of Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for shipping (using UPS, FedEx, USPS and freight company software), receiving, returns, carrier relations, order management, product management and customer service. Assure prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials orders while providing outstanding customer service.

  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions as applicable.
  • Handle end to end order processing to ensure orders are processed and shipped according to customers requested delivery date.
  • Secure company assets.
  • Maintain a positive work environment with work force and customers.
  • Execute new approaches/procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and services performed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

The Requirements

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to teach, explain, and motivate warehouse personnel.
  • Meet availability requirements including nights and weekends.
  • Work with third party logistics team.
  • Firearms enthusiast preferred, but not required.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive situations.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Knowledge of shipping softwares (USPS, UPS Worldship, FedEx Ship Manager, etc.).
